An unconventional journey in to UX/UI design
Skill 1/6
Leadership

I became a successful pharmacy team leader by learning how to optimise processes, enhance patient safety and resolve conflicts. As a result the business grew 3% each year.
Skill 2/6
Teamwork

I challenged myself by joining the geriatric team at the Ulster Hospital. I thrived as part of a multidisciplinary team that was under immense time pressure every day.
Skill 3/6
Accessibility

I become an expert in making complex information accessible by working first hand with elderly patients who had visual, auditory, speech and cognition impairments due to ill health.
Skill 4/6
Special Education

I found purpose in using my skills to connect with people. So I decided to work with neurodivergent teenagers. Within 12 months, a student under my care increased their curriculum engagement by an incredible 36%.
Skill 5/6
Natural Talent

But something was missing... I was born with a natural talent in fine art and I really needed a career that brought science, people and creativity together as one.
Skill 6/6
Leap of Faith

Finally, I found the answer in the most unlikely place. I met guy, went on a date and then one day he said to me, “Hey have you ever heard of UX Design? I think you would be really good at it!” ...the rest is history!
Natural Talent

With a background in fine art, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of creativity, science, and human empathy — design became the bridge that connected them all.
Leadership

Led a busy pharmacy team through process improvements that enhanced patient safety and reduced conflict, driving a 3% growth in business performance each year.
Teamwork

Thrived on a fast-paced geriatric ward as part of a multidisciplinary team, learning to collaborate under pressure and solve problems quickly for vulnerable patients.
Accessibility

Transformed complex medical information into clear, accessible communication for elderly patients with visual, auditory, and cognitive impairments.
